Day 34-35: Chasing Rainbows

Day 34

Saturday 8th June

...........::::::::::::::STRABANE FAIR DAY::::::::::::::...........
Sounds exciting doesn't it? It was once upon a time, these days its mainly an excuse to see David Oliver and get a free burger cooked by Luke McDaid, but hey-ho!

What's that you want more David Oliver? Alright then

On Day 34, Astrologer #2 Da Juana Byrd said:
Setting aside a little land at your own place for herbs is a delightful choice
I was never a fan of herbs but of to the garden I went
One of the earliest known herbs gardens was made in Babylon, the chief city of Mesopotamia.  King Mardukapal-Iddina 11, made it nearly 3000 years ago. He grew 64 kinds of plants to make medicines. Some of them we grow in our gardens today - apple, coriander, dill, fennel, garlic, onion and roses.  He also grew more powerful plants such as hellebore and opium poppy. Doctors in Mesopotamia believed the best times to give their patients medicines was either at night or in the early morning.
Nice!

it's time to boost your physical energy by taking exercise.
What an amazing physical specimen!
It began with the forging of the Great Supplements. Black Chrome was given to the Elves, immortal, wisest and most ottermode of all beings. NO-xplode to the Dwarf-Lords, great powerlifters and craftsmen of the mountain racks. And Jack3d, Jack3d was gifted to the race of Men, who above all else desire the pump. For within these supplements was bound the strength and the will to curl in the squat rack. But they were all of them deceived, for another supplement was made. Deep in the land of Curldor, in the Fires of Mount Doms, the Dark Lord Sauna forged in secret a master supplement to control all others, and into this Albuterex he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all workouts. One supplement to rule them all.

Day 35

Sunday 9th June
Famous Birthday today is my cousin Claire who has enclosed a picture in the hope that she gets famous. Happy Birthday Claire!

On Day 35, Astrologer #8 Patrick Arundall said:
A get together with friends or family members is also possible
It sure was Paddy as 2 family members were having birthday parties one was my aunt Ann

The second was the aforementioned Claire so off I set in the direction of Victoria Bridge for the festivities and very quickly got soaked by my cousin Tiarnan and his jug off water but then he got thrown into the swimming pool so that was all good. As usual Anthony was there, never one to miss a good party

look at old photos, or tell stories about your childhood
So I looked in my folder from my old computer back in the days of Windows 98 to see what old photo's I could find. Lets see what old photo's I have on this then:
Rory at The Ministry (2005)
Johnny Jumping off his roof (2004)
Greg looking for payback (2005)
John Fox (2001)
Sadie and Terry (1996)
So now I guess you want a story then? Which shall I tell? Mickey Lynch and the stolen homework? Kieran McFadden and the packet of ham? Or the arrival of the McDonnell's? No none of these today, instead let me regale you of the story of; Seamus Mossey and the Charred homework. One day during school Seamus was asked by Miss McQuillan where his homework was "I don't have it" he said with a smile on his face. "What do you mean you don't have it?" Miss McQuillan asked.
"I left it at home" he said. Miss McQuillan wasn't convinced "empty your bag" she requested. Seamus obliged handing her what turned out to be his homework. Miss McQuillan's jaw dropped, "What's this" she enquired. "My homework" was his response still the smile was etched on his face. "What happened it" she asked, "I tried to burn it" he said without a hint of remorse, in fact he looked quite happy about this, the sheets were charred at the bottom where he had tried to light them on fire how he thought this would help him in completing his homework I don't know but I'll never forget his or Miss McQuillan's face it was amazing.

Well only 5 days left I wonder what else will await me

Think, for a moment, about how vastly different, in so many ways, the world has become in the years since you were born.
Well In the years since I was born here is what happened on June 6th:
  • 1993 – Mongolia holds its first direct presidential elections.
  • 2002 – Eastern Mediterranean Event. A near-Earth asteroid estimated at 10 meters in diameter explodes over the Mediterranean Sea between Greece and Libya. The resulting explosion is estimated to have a force of 26 kilotons, slightly more powerful than the Nagasaki atomic bomb.
  • 2004 – Tamil is established as a "classical language" by the President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, in a joint sitting of the two houses of the Indian Parliament.
  • 2005 – In Gonzales v. Raich, the United States Supreme Court upholds a federal law banning cannabis, including medical marijuana.
  • 2008 – The Comcast Center officially opens, making it the tallest building in Philadelphia.

So off i went for the solice of Mary's next door to read my new book, which has to do with my blog that follows my Important Astrology Experiment, but I can't give you any more details than that today. It's a good read though

Day 33

Friday 7th June
On Day 33, Astrologer #6 Marjorie Orr
Listen to music when you can, or look at art, aim for activities that are going to be very peaceful, pleasant and wind you down.
I was still thinking of the golf from earlier in the week so musically there was only one option:

Excellent! Something peaceful and pleasant that always winds me down is a good walk so me and Kevin set off towards the town on a pleasant Friday afternoon, we stopped in with Kevin's agent to see if he had any work for him

He didn't, but Laurie did choose to join us on our walk towards the town... kinda ... "well I'm not walking anywhere" he protested and jumped on his bike before driving off in the direction of the central bar, leaving me and Kevin to leisurely stroll after him.

 Astrologer #12 Astrology.co.uk said:
Looking after yourself should be high priority.
This was very true I hadn't eaten yet today and it was pushing 8pm, I decided to stop into Paolo's for something I hadn't enjoyed for well over a month, a Chicken Box! Laurie could wait there was chicken chips and 3 different sauces in a box to be devoured and devour it I did. I asked Kevin what he'd change if he could do it all again, he said he'd lead a more christian lifestyle, which is admirable. I'd probably just eat less chicken boxes.

We met up with Laurie in the central, where he talked about visits to a sex shop in Omagh, we quickly changed the subject. Unfortunately Laurie hadn't got the most recent job he had applied for extending his unemployed spell to nearly 4 years. At least he still has his secret admirer who recently questioned if he'd moved to Raphoe because he kept "getting mistaken for Jimmy Saville"
Now then! Now then!
We arrived back at Kevin's around 10:45pm after a cola in the central and another yack back in Laurie's. The view from Kevin's is quite amazing but you'll have to take my word for it because my camera is shiiiiite

Day 30-31: Iran so far away

Day 30
Tuesday 4th June
Famous Births: Bar Rafaeli (1985), Mollie King (1987), Brooke Vincent (1992)
A good day to be born

At the start of this experiment I consulted a website called luckydays.tv that website tells you your lucky days for gambling based on your astrological details, my best days for gambling fell on Days 16, 30 and 39 of this experiment, the rules dictate that I follow luck, so today I was betting.
I checked bet365 what games were on that I could bet on the one that immediately caught my eye was the monster clash between Qatar and Iran excellent so I was going to get on Iran  to win but how much was I placing

On Day 30, Astrologer 14 WebWombat said:
Lucky numbers are 55 and 2.

Excellent I added these together to get £57 quid and put it on Iran to win. Below are the highlights

Relax! After putting in an honest effort, you deserve to kick back with your favourite people.
To kick back and relax I enjoyed playing golf, my favourite people were Dean and Colin Montgomerie ... They weren't available ... I got Laurie Smyth, we headed off to the driving range, but not before I managed to get hold of one of my favourite people in Kevy O'Donnell, who informed me the last time we had played golf was sometime in 2005, he'd lost none of his spark though and was soon going tee to green with no problems. Laurie on the other hand ...

He also had a few wardrobe malfunctions as well:

Just a bit of downy fluff

These may have been for the ladies benefits, sadly not that many ladies play Hill Valley so he was barking up the wrong tree. It was as we were playing the last few holes I got the news of the Iran result:

“Mr Mc Cauley?” shouted a man as he leapt out of his vehicle. “Manchester United have won the league!” Laurie and I hugged each other, joined by the bearer of this great news, God, what a feeling. The next shot was abandoned and as we made our way down the 18th fairway my thoughts went back to 1962 when Arnold Palmer won the Open at Troon. I’ll never forget the sight of him marching between the massed ranks of his fans towards the last green. That’s how I felt, like a real champion, as I strode up that fairway.
Out of the corner of my eye I spotted a group, I noticed that one of them had a moustache. He must be an Iran fan, I told myself, and informed him with great pride, ‘Iran have won 1-0’
‘Ah... what you mean?’ I was left feeling a little stupid. ‘That went down well,’ said Kevin. Who cared? I picked up my mobile phone to call Montgomerie. £120 better off.

Day 31
Wednesday 5th June
On day 31 Astrologer #2 Da Juana Byrd said:
Walk around a building or a run up and down a few stairs
The Building I decided to traverse was the old school/youth club at the bottom of my road (and then to round the corner a bit), by the time I was born it stopped being used as a youth club and had slowly become dilapidated
A few rogues had documented there presence 8 or so years ago on the walls but these too had disappeared and all that was left was the burnout marks from the bike of that weird looking guy whose name escapes me. My lasting memory of the school was the day we asked Sean McDonnell to have a go at kicking the ball in an open window, which he did first try and continued on his way, whataguy!

Return a call to someone at a distance.
How much of a distance? Couple of miles?
Who did I know that lived at a distance hmmm, well I knew one of my friends who liked to make phone calls

Ahh good old Daz, I wonder how Laurie's getting on at the tenth?

He Just took a drop ball and put it down to experience.

Take a trip down memory lane
I decided that I would take a trip to the place that landed me in hospital some 7 years ago

Looks innocuous enough doesn't it. but its a killer slope! There I was that fateful October evening sitting at the top with my mate Johnny whilst he was telling my cousin Leanne to stay at the top of the slope because it was quite dangerous (he wasn't lying), for some reason I was on his sisters new pink bike and he was on mine, that was probably my first mistake, even though the pink really brought out my eyes. Well off we set ... 20 hours later I woke up in Altnagelvin in a hospital bed. As it turns out I'd fell off the pink bike which came off a lot worse than me surprisingly, Johnny heard the clunk turned around to ask if I was alright, only to see my lifeless body lying there. He started screaming which prompted Leanne to jump on her bike and fly down the road. Whilst she called her parent and an ambulance, Johnny decided the best plan of action would be to run to the nearest farm and try to steal a tractor, presumably he was going to take me to hospital in the link box or maybe to a shallow grave as he met Leanne's parents on the way and started shouting "It's too late! It's too late!" Thankfully though it wasn't and I only had knocked myself out. I got out out of hospital the next day with not even a scratch, but I did have to buy his sister a new bike but oh well swings and roundabouts.

Let yourself dream, listen to music or just be a little more imaginative.
Well I did listen to a lot of music and I let myself daydream whilst listening to it, today I mainly listened to The Cure

and The Smiths
and I conjured up positive thoughts I highly recommend you do the same ;)

Astrologer #17 Jacqueline Bigar said:
Say "yes" to an enticing offer.
Kieran was back from Sunderland for a week and he had told me to come over, so I'd grabbed Laurie Smyth who wanted an excuse to get out of his house as his mum was upset with him and off we went on the now fully repaired bike. We played a little football

Laurie once put on a superhuman display playing goalkeeper once, but it was a one-off and there were no calls from Liverpool or Yeovil Town fielded afterwards. Talk went from the usual football to Laurie shaving his whole body. What a character

Astrologer #7 Mystic Meg said:
Luck begins with a text that you read at 8pm.
I returned home to see what this luck was. I had one message... It was from Dean, he was talking about Ted Danson, so for prosperity here is old Ted Danson in the moonlight

Set your voice to song tonight.
I remembered the time that I was in the Anchor Bar's karaoke competition, let the record be known that according to that competition I am a better showman than this guy.
Boxcar Andy
I hadn't sang karaoke for over a year and a half, my old repertoire included, Elton John - Sacrifice, Rod Stewert - I Don't Want To Talk About It, anything by Shayne Ward and Aerosmith - Don't Wanna Miss A Thing, however recently I've been thinking of adding this one to my list:

Turn down the lights, turn down the bed
Turn down these voices inside my head
Lay down with me, tell me no lies
Just hold me close, don't patronise
Don't patronise me

'Cause I can't make you love me If you don't
You can't make your heart feel something it won't
Here in the dark in these final hours
I will lay down my heart, and I'll feel the power
But you won't, no you won't
And I can't make you love me
If you don't

Do not sign legal contracts or documents today
Today happened to be my old bestie Kayle's Engagement Party and I was on my travels to Belfast for it, singing on the bus gets you some odd looks by the way, this however this horoscope was to prove a problem, in the writing of her card, so I decided to enlist the help of my aunt Carmel to write it for me.. "Carmel Could you wri.."

In the end up Mary did it for me instead. I had a good night at the party I hope Kayle enjoyed her signed photo of me and Health's Coffee Maker (the thoughtful bugger) and the sausage rolls were quite good. Not like those reheated sausage rolls I had at JP's 18th birthday party 6 years ago that made me boke and in turn led to an inability to drink Jack Daniels for 4 years but that's a story for another day.

I did have a worry about this time, I did let it bother me though as most thoughts surrounding this subject have done in the past few weeks, but I snapped myself out of it, cos Bridgett told me too

On Day 24; Astrologer #2 said:
this evening is a good time to just sit back and enjoy what you have.
Alright so I called up Dean and we were off to the cinema to see the hangover 3.

Astrologer #14 WebWombat added:
No comfort-eating tonight!
Alright so no popcorn for me then.

We sat in the Omniplex at Derry waiting for the picture to start we amused ourself watching this on youtube. We were all alone in the cinema which was kinda odd and after 30 mins the film still hadn't started

So we decided to head out and see what was going on, the attendant seemed to have enough problems of his own never mind putting on a film so we got a refund and headed to the bar.
This is it for us, Duane, but, you know, back to what we were talking about earlier, I don't give a shit what Denise says, I think there's still room for somebody to write the great American novel. So take that for whatever it's worth, buddy.

Astrologer #20 David Wells said:
Without showing anyone the full extent of your plans, it’s time to test things out. Test is the key word, no jumping in just yet.
